Jeanne Lambrew serves as Senior Health Policy Analyst at the National Economic Council. Working under the direction of the National Economic Council Chair Gene Sperling and Deputy Director of the Domestic Policy Council Christopher Jennings, Dr. Lambrew conducts and coordinates health policy analysis related to Medicaid, Medicare, and new health initiatives. This includes policy development in these areas, evaluation of legislative proposals, and coordination of the relevant policy analysis and cost estimates from the Office of Management and Budget, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Treasury Department, the Labor Department and other relevant agencies.
Prior to joining the National Economic Council, Dr. Lambrew was an assistant professor of public policy at Georgetown University. In that position, she researched managed care for low-income families and Medicare and Medicaid's role in long-term care. This research built upon experience between 1993 1995 as a special assistant coordinating Medicaid and state studies at the Department of Health and Human Services.
Dr. Lambrew has her masters and Ph.D. from the Department of Health Policy, School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
